Pilates

Our Pilates mat classes will help you develop long, lean muscles, improved flexibility, and increased muscular strength.

In addition to the following complimentary mat classes, our Pilates and GYROTONIC department offers private sessions and small-group classes using a variety of Pilates and GYROTONIC apparatuses. For more information, visit the Pilates and GYROTONIC section of the website.

Barre Chisel

This class incorporates elements of ballet, modern dance, Pilates and yoga with light weight-training to improve muscular endurance and balance. It’s a non-stop endurance workout that uses isotonic and isometric contractions to work both the small intrinsic muscles and the major muscle groups, resulting in a sculpted upper body, firmer thighs and a lifted seat. There is no advance registration for this class.

Beginning Pilates

Learn the fundamentals and techniques for a safe and effective Pilates mat workout. Pilates builds strength without bulk, improves flexibility and agility, and helps to prevent injury. There is no advance registration for this class.

Intermediate Pilates

This intermediate-level class is recommended for those who have attended at least 20 Pilates classes. The focus is on the classical repertoire of Joseph Pilates’ principles. Participants will benefit from core and stability training with enhanced breathing techniques. There is no advance registration for this class.

Move off the Mat

The Pilates Method is a complete system of exercise that goes beyond work on the mat. Broaden your horizons with this class that combines classical mat exercises with work on the equipment in the studio, adding resistance and support to help strengthen your core as well as your mind-body connection. Pilates Mat on the Deck
