A juice cleanse is a nutrition regimen designed to give the digestive system a reprieve from rich and processed foods, balance the body back to a neutral pH level, and restore crucial enzymes, vitamins and minerals. Juice cleanses require consuming only fruit, vegetable and nut juices for a pre-determined amount of time.
A cleanse is not a fast or a weight-loss plan, and you shouldn't feel deprived. With a juice cleanse, your body receives all the benefits of natural food in a concentrated source of organic fruits, vegetables and nut milk blends. It would be difficult to eat the amount of whole fruits and vegetables provided in these drinks in a single day.
Juice cleanses are a great way to jump-start a healthy lifestyle. A juice cleanse detoxifies the body; increases energy; boosts the immune system; increases mental clarity; decreases acidity and inflammation; reduces sugar cravings; and improves overall well-being.
Cleanses are low-fiber to give your digestion system a rest from breaking down complex, solid foods. Our bodies should be kept at a neutral pH in order to maintain good health. Fruits and vegetables are high alkaline, but not consumed in a large enough quantity to balance the acidity of the processed foods we eat daily. These juices are alkalizing and loaded with enzymes, phytonutrients and anti-oxidants to balance your body.
A juice cleanse can help you if you need a kick-start to eating healthier foods; feel fatigued and need more energy; have digestion issues like constipation, bloating or IBS; want to feel lighter and less sluggish; want a clearer body and mind; are trying to shake sugar cravings; are sleeping poorly; want to improve your immune system; are looking to reduce inflammation; to recover after a weekend of overindulging in food and alcohol; or after a round of antibiotics.
It is true that our bodies cleanse naturally. Every day our lungs, liver, blood and colon work to clear impurities from the body. However, our modern diet of rich, processed foods; ample use of alcohol, caffeine and medication; stress; and environmental factors, like air and water pollution overload our bodies with toxins. A juice cleanse can help counteract the less-than-healthy items we put in our body as well as environmental pollution.
We believe there is no one-size-fits-all approach to cleansing. While we recommend you try the cleanse as intended, our cleanses can be modified to fit your specific nutritional needs, allergies and dislikes. All of our juices are made in the Juice Bar from unpasteurized, raw, vegan, pure and organic ingredients without any additives or preservatives. This process allows our cleanse to retain more enzymes, vitamins, and minerals than pasteurized, store-bought juices. The EBC Juice Cleanse is bottled in BPA-free containers, and we guarantee the nutritional content for up to three days as long as it is kept refrigerated.
Beyond the benefits of better quality juices, the EBC Juice Cleanse comes with extra support from our dietitian. You will receive an eating plan for before and during your cleanse as well as a guide to transitioning back to solid food. We also offer discounted post-cleanse nutritional counseling for long-term maintenance.
1: Green Machine (kale, spinach, celery, bok choy, cucumber, green apple, lime)
This juice is a powerful drink full of greens that contain essential vitamins and minerals that naturally alkalize the body. It is anti-inflammatory, high in iron and rich in antioxidants.
2: Tropical Mint (pineapple, green apple, lime, mint, filtered water)
Green apple is a low glycemic fruit. Mint improves digestion and soothes the stomach while pineapple contributes bromelain, an anti-inflammatory enzyme.
3: Red Ginger (beet, green apple, carrot, lemon, ginger)
Carrots contain the most carotenoids, an antioxidant that converts to vitamin A, which is essential for healthy vision and skin. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties and gives your metabolism a kick-start while stimulating the digestive system. Lemon cleanses the digestive tract and alkalizes your body. Beets are high in iron, folic acid and beta-carotene.
4: Lemon Kick (lemon, cayenne pepper, agave, lime, filtered water)
Limes and lemons are high in the anti-oxidant vitamin C. Cayenne is a powerful metabolism booster. Agave is a natural sweetener made from the juice of the agave plant.
5: Green Machine (same as 1 above)
6: Nut Mix #Six (cashew, almond, vanilla bean, agave, cinnamon, filtered water)
Cashews and almonds are high in magnesium and mono-unsaturated fats, which will help with satiety at the end of the day. Cinnamon stabilizes the blood glucose level in your body. Vanilla is a calorie-free natural sweetener and agave is a low-glycemic natural sweetener.
